Assistance League Of Newport Mesa

8th Grade Assisteens - Class of 2031!

Some words from Kristine

Assistance League of Newport Mesa has been invited to participate in the county wide Igniting Potential Giving Day this coming Wednesday, September 16th and we need your help! Igniting Potential is a collaborative effort by children’s charities across Orange County to come together to raise $550,000 in funds for local youth in need.

Our Assistance League Newport Mesa (ALNM) chapter is raising funds to be able to meet emergency requests from the Newport Mesa Unified School District - local schools urgently need us to restock their food pantries and provide their families with essential clothing and equipment for school. ALNM has already secured $20,000 in matching donations for this effort - we will raise an additional $1 for every dollar donation you can bring in, up to $40,000! Please let your network of family, friends and colleagues know that the Igniting Potential Giving Day is coming and remind them leading up to September 16th.

Link is attached below. Be sure to have friends and family to scroll down the page to give to specifically our 8TH GRADE ASSISTEENS class! OUR SPECIFIC GOAL FOR OUR 8TH GRADE CLASS is $2,000, which averages to about $66 for each Assisteen. Any amount is appreciated!! The Assisteens class with the most donations will receive a prize. Please note that this fundraiser is one day only, September 16th and you won't be able to donate prior to or after that date.Thank you for your support, and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

If you know anyone who would alternatively like to give early or make an "offline" donation via check, family foundation or Donor Advised Fund, contact ALNM VP Resource Development at liz.mirza@gmail.com

Assistance League Of Newport Mesa Story

Celebrating Over 80 Years of Service in Newport-Mesa

Assistance League of Newport-Mesa began in 1940 in Newport Beach with a small group of women wanting to make a difference in the lives of children.  Our four philanthropic programs are completely self-funded through grants, endowments, fundraising events and proceeds from our on-site shops.

The Newport-Mesa Chapter of dedicated member volunteers gives over 12,000 hours of service each year to operate our programs.  Our programs helped 2,500 children in the Costa Mesa and Newport Beach communities in just the last year.

The philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Newport-Mesa, the Cheri Harris Dental Center, Operation School Bell®, The Kids on the Block, and Scholarship Program are staffed by member volunteers and funded through proceeds from our Thrift Shop, Treasures on Consignment, fundraising events, grants, endowments and private donations.
