Connecting Generations and Creating Brighter Futures

As founders of Parentis Foundation, we are deeply committed to creating enriching opportunities for children and older adults to connect, learn, and grow together.

That vision comes to life through Empowering Readers OC, which pairs students in grades 1–5 with caring older-adult mentors for consistent, one-on-one literacy support at no cost to their families. Children build essential reading skills and confidence, while mentors share their wisdom and experience in ways that bring renewed purpose and connection.

Entering our tenth year, we are preparing to serve more than 550 children who are struggling to read. As many of our school and community partners face funding challenges, your support will help us bridge the gap so no child loses access to the help they need.

Please join us in investing in the power of intergenerational connection. Together, we can strengthen young readers, empower older adults, and build a brighter future for every generation.

With gratitude,
Tarek and Arda

Parentis Foundation Story

Why It Matters: When school funding gets cut and budgets shrink, who ensures children in Orange County still receive the literacy support they need to thrive? You do. We do. Together, our community does.

The Challenge: This year, some of our program partners, especially those in high-impact communities, have lost the discretionary funding that once supported literacy programs like ours. Without additional support, many children could lose access to the consistent mentorship that helps them grow into confident and joyful readers – and future leaders!

The Solution: Us. We may not control budgets, but we can control how we show up as a community. Together, we can bridge the gap so every child has the chance to succeed.

Every gift matters. Every session matters. Every reader matters.

Will you help us bridge the gap?
