Our Mission is to empower kids to change the world.

For 25 years, Team Kids has empowered children to become leaders in their schools, communities, and world.

Founded in 2001, Team Kids addresses the anxiety, isolation, disconnection, and lack of belonging experienced by too many young people. Through hands-on leadership and service, children build confidence, empathy, teamwork, and a stronger sense of purpose. They learn that their voices matter and that they do not have to wait until adulthood to create meaningful change.

The Team Kids Challenge

At the heart of Team Kids is the six-week Team Kids Challenge, delivered during the school day at no cost to students. Students are not simply participating; they are trusted with real decisions, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to see the results of their work. Children leave the Challenge feeling more confident, connected, and prepared to lead, serve, and work with others.

• Student-Led Action: Throughout the Challenge, children work alongside Team Kids coaches, educators, police officers, firefighters, veterans, and other community mentors. Together, they explore local issues, develop leadership skills, and complete schoolwide service activities.  
• Charitable Impact: The experience culminates in a student-led charity carnival. Children select a nonprofit organization, plan and operate the event, and raise funds to support a cause they care about. 
• Measurable Transformation: Evaluations show measurable improvements in how students view themselves and their ability to make a difference. 

Celebrating 25 Years of Impact

Since 2001, Team Kids has reached more than half a million children. The impact extends beyond the six-week program as students carry what they learn into their classrooms, homes, friendships, and communities. Some participants have even returned years later as interns and mentors, helping the next generation discover their own ability to lead.

As Team Kids celebrates its 25th year, the organization is preparing for its next chapter. After reaching 16,000 students last year, Team Kids is working toward serving 50,000 students in a single year.

•  Program Delivery: School coordination, Challenge materials, kickoff events, student leadership meetings, charity carnivals, and celebrations.
• Partner Engagement: Training and coordination for educators, police officers, firefighters, veterans, nonprofit partners, and adult mentors.
• Measurement and Research: Student evaluations, outcome tracking, research support, donor reporting, and continued proof of impact.
• Growth Infrastructure: The staff, systems, training, and operational capacity needed to bring Team Kids to more schools and communities.

By fostering connection, service, and hope, Team Kids helps children move from feeling unseen to being heard, from feeling isolated to belonging, and from believing they cannot make a difference to knowing they can.
